Dear Kenedy Elementary Family,

Greeting! A ROARING welcome goes out to our new students and a ROARING hello to those returning. We are excited to get to know  our students and families even more as the year progresses.

We are proud that you have entrusted your child’s education to us. We want all students to achieve success this year through strong partnerships between the school and home. It is our firm belief that parents are a child’s first and most important teacher in life. They cannot achieve their full potential without you supporting them  on a daily basis. You can do this by ensuring that your child comes to school every day, encouraging reading (or read with them) every night, monitoring progress in homework and class work, and asking your child to share with you what was learned that day. With your cooperation, dedication, commitment and support, we will work as a team to help your child have a successful year.

You may be wondering how you can get involved at KES. Parents wishing to volunteer can complete a volunteer form obtained from Administration office. Once the background check is completed, KES will be notified and we can find a place of service. Joining and being active in the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is also a good way for you to support not only your own child, but all students and staff at Kenedy Elementary. You will hear more from our PTO in the early weeks of school and throughout the school year. Parent volunteers are important resources to our school and volunteerism shows students the importance of participating in the larger community. An active PTO and volunteers are a win-win situation for all involved. The teachers benefit from the help offered, parents are more aware of the day to day activities of their child, and students see that we work as a team to create success.

The school will be open at 7:30 to welcome students. Breakfast will be available for all students from 7:30-8:00. Students not eating breakfast will sit outside their classroom until the 7:50 bell rings and they will enter the classroom. Students arriving after 8:00 will be tardy.

KES staff are privileged to be partners with you this year. We thank you for your support and committed dedication to your child’s education.
